The Johannes Köhr brand has become known world-wide as a standard in quality, value, and reliability! Online research is vague, but this upright seems to have been made in Europe, possibly the Czech Republic, and imported to the U.S. by the Howard Core Company.  This 1/2-size upright features a spruce top, maple back and sides, a ample neck, and an ebony fingerboard.  There are indications that suggest that the headstock on this bass has been broken and then repaired by a professional as there are noticeable lines on the sides and back of the headstock as well as on the bass side of the neck that looks like repair work. The rest of the bass shows some signs of heavy wear and tear, but make no mistake about it, this upright plays really well and can still sing like a dream!  Ideal for any intermediate level student, this Johannes Köhr K61 is your ticket to success!
Cosmetic and Functionality Description
Body:
the top and back edges show some heavy wear and tear such as large scrapes, scuff marks, dings, and dents; the surface areas along the top, back, and sides also show some scuff marks, scratches, dings, and small chips in the finish
Neck, Headstock, and Fingerboard:
the fingerboard looks lamost flawless except for some pieces of marking tape in three spots; the back of the neck has some dark discoloration on the upper half from normal use and handling, but the neck heel has some scuff marks and scrapes along the edges and the bass side of the neck at the top looks like it had a small piece of maple glued in as a repair procedure (likely after a headstock repair); there are indications that suggest that the headstock on this bass has been broken and then repaired by a professional as there are noticeable lines on the sides and back of the headstock as well as on the bass side of the neck that look like repair work, plus the headstock has some obvious scrapes, dings, and scuff marks along the edges and surfaces

the action is about medium; the bridge is intact and the tailpiece has some obvious scuff marks and scratches on it
