    Description

A true, historical antique!  An adjustable binocle made by the CP Goerz Trieder Company in 1902-03, Berlin, Germany, Model or Serial # 37130.  They are a 12X power magnification.  The company name is faintly visable near the eye piece and the model/serial # is on the opposite end.  There are no other words or markings that I can find on the piece.  The unit appears complete except for a leather strap.  It works, the eye-piece turns to adjust focus and the image is clear, the leather cover is worn but fully intact and the metal on each end is scratched up.  This an early 1900's piece. I have not been able to completely document it.  I believe it may have been used in targeting weapons.  I know they made such pieces early in the century and during both world wars, but I have been unable to find documentation on this piece other than on Wikepedia, photos of very similar units are shown in the images available on that site.  There are threads on one end like it may attach to something else.
Extended length is about 5.25", and the triangular body is about 2" per side.
Study the photos carefully.  If you have questions or wish additional photos, please ask.
