Because the inlet or outlet pipes weren't long enough to accept the filter tee or baffle. Our Extend & Lok is a simple, easy to use solution that can extend the inlet or outlet pipe and make a filter and/or baffle installation a snap. They are now available to fit 3", 4" & 6" pipe. This listing is for the 4" version.
